  New "United in Worship" book leaves out chapter on blood! Why?

  before baptism this was the second more doctrinal book that had to be studied.. 1980 united in worship chapter 19 "what does the mosaic law mean to you?.

  chapter 20 "life and blood do you treat them as sacred?.

  2002 worship the true god.

  Thanks for the scans on these cards, Blondie. I really think this will be the next step in the evolution of the blood policy. Witnesses already can reinfuse their own blood as long as it is attached to the person. It can be reinfused up to a few hours after surgery. Looks exactly like a blood transfusion.

  Next step is to store your own blood away from the body. They already use stored blood from others for their fractions, so it is not that big of a jump.

  If they actually sent these out, they must be close. Maybe they just need an old timer or two to die off?

  WSJ - Front Page - Predict End of USA by 2010 - Garbage...

  i was very surprised that the wall street journal would publish this crap worthy of infowars.com.

  and i was even more surprised they put it on the front page.. but it's in today's wsj - dec. 29 edition.. it's a story about a russian professor that is predicting the end of the usa by the year 2010.. he points to the fact that states will withhold support to the federal government.. they went so far as to make little diagrams on what states would go to canada and what to russia.. this one is easy though - say what you want to say - but 2010 is only a year away - and nothing is going to happen to the usa.. i'm not a flag waving redneck either - but the infrastructure of the us is too strong - too advanced.. con.

  I had a witness friend tell me the other day that this is the recession/depression that the world will not get out of. She never elaborated and I didn't ask why as she was leaving at the time.

  I wondered if the witnesses were teaching that this is the end again?

  I don't think I will still be here when the US really collapses. The man in the article is foolish to make silly predictions. There is always one out there though.

  i've had a terrible cold for the holidays.

  i was sneezing up a storm.

  i usually don't play devils' advocate and ask my husband questions i already know the answer to but i couldn't help myself.

  I used to say gesundheit even as a witness. It is German and just means good health to you. It was my replacement for bless you because of the witness prohibition of that phrase.

  It really all sounds so silly now.

  Cancelled bookstudy- but do you remember 4 day Assemblies!!!

  assemblies used to go for 5 days which caused problems for brothers with work so....it was changed to thursday to sunday......then half of thursday to sunday.....then 3 days only.

  does anyone remember this....i remember 3 and a half days.

  i know in all my years...45 in the trut..uhh...make that...cult..........i can only think of one time i ever gave $$ to someone in need....a friend who and no insurance and had a bad accident.........and i really don't remember anytime a person or family was so desperate there was talk about it or an announcement made to help them.

  in today's economy with zillions of bankruptcies and foreclosures...esp due to medical problems and no insurance, there must be lots of dubs in need.

  so how much financial help have you seen given?

  Charitable acts were almost exclusively done on an individual basis. The borg could not divert any time or energy from the preacing work, or so they said. It always seemed so cold to me.

  We did have some live with us when they lost their homes and gave groceries, etc. to those out of work. Looking back though, we could have done much more if we weren't running in circles looking for recruits.

  I did see the congo organize some help with meals for an elderly lady once, but it fell on the individuals to accomplish it. I have never seen congregation donations used to help anyone.

  I had a sweet single mother bring me a few meals when I had surgery once. It was much appreciated.

  The 1978 convention was 4 days with a half day of field circus on one day. It was blistering hot in the old Busch Stadium. I remember taking a large thermos of ice to suck on to try and stand the heat. It was 120 on the stage and they bragged about how the speakers could stand there and deliver their talks without passing out. Then I got to take a bus without air-conditioning home with a small child. Of course, we stayed after and cleaned up first.

  My small child got extremely sick from the heat. I had to take him to the doctor and she looked at me like I was crazy when I told her what caused the fever. I'm surprised she didn't turn me in to family services now.

  Field circus was a joke. They sent us into a really rich area in St. Louis. It was Saturday and people were having BBQ's and swimming in their pools. I wonder what they thought of us in our dress clothes with sweat running down our faces? I wanted so much to just jump in one of their pools to cool off.

  Snakes, yes there was a globe on the stage. I don't remember the theme of the convention and have no idea why the globe was there.

  Never would I even consider one day of this mind numbing nonsense again.

  Suicide

  the holidays are a time when some people get depressed and commit suicide.

  has any one in there congration commited suicide and what was the reacion by the other members.

  I know the watchtower liked to say that suicides were highest on holidays, but it just isn't true. Google "suicide on holidays" and you'll find that studies have shown that suicides are higher during the early part of the week, but no increase on holidays of any kind.

  You can trust the watchtower to misinform you whenever it suits their agenda. Holidays are bad/cause people to commit suicide.

  I only knew of one person who committed suicide, because she was ill. She plainly mapped out her funeral, including who was to give the talk, who were to be the pallbearers, etc. She announced it to a lot of people, myself included, but you just don't think someone will carry it through.

  I have to say that it was handled really nicely by the jws (shockingly). They said she accidently overdosed on her pills and she had a funeral at the hall with all the blessings of the elders. I still miss her.
